Our Attic Fans & Tubular Skylights Qualify For up to $1,500 Federal Tax Credit
The Greenergy Solar Attic Fans & Tubular Skylights meet the new standards to be eligible for up to $1,500 Federal Tax Credit. In order to qualify for tax credits as defined in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the solar attic fan or tubular skylight must have been placed in service on your home on June 1, 2009 through December 31, 2010. Additionally, the item must have been properly installed meeting all applicable building, electrical and fire code.
Claiming Your Tax Credit
There are three items that you need to provide at Tax time:
1) Manufacturer’s Certification Statement. Greenergy has provided below, a Statement of Certification from our manufacturer for homeowners. Please download and complete the form and keep it with your tax records. The Statement of Certification is not required to be filed with the your forms, but income tax regulations require taxpayers to have appropriate documentation to qualify for a tax credit.
2) Receipts
3) IRS Form 5695 must be completed and submitted with your taxes. We are providing the federal government’s Energy Star website link. There you can click on the “How do I apply for my Federal Tax Credit” link to get all of the information regarding claiming your tax credit, including the Form 5695.
